We all have that one friend with the amazing closet, amazing makeup, amazing purses, you name it. What are some perks of this type of friend? PLAYING DRESS UP WITH THEIR STUFF OF COURSE! So today I was lucky enough to travel up to Prescott and play top model with one of my very best friends, Maryssa.
In high school I had to pick and recite a favorite poem. I chose Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou. I definitely don’t embrace every aspect of her poem, but I hope to one day. Part of the fun in dress-up though, is putting on another persona, and today, I chose to be Maya’s phenomenal woman. I’m going to attach the poem to these pictures so that you can enjoy her exquisite words:
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I’m not cute, or built to suit a fashion model’s size. But when I start to tell them, they think I’m telling lies. I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms, the span of my hips, the stride of my step, the curl of my lips. I’m a woman. Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman. That’s me.
